Feral New Year 2018
The Salmon Coming Home Vest
Ready to wear some fish? The Salmon Coming Home vest pattern is now available! This design was inspired by my visit to Cordova, Alaska. The water, sky, and mountains coupled with the welcoming community of fisherfolk caught my imagination so deeply that I had roughed out this design in my head while I flew home.
You can read more about this pattern at Feral Knitter or on Ravelry. And of course, yarn packs are available for this design.
Bird Party! January 20th
The Copper River Delta in Alaska (did I mention how much I enjoyed Alaska?!) is on the path of major bird migrations. The Copper River Delta Shorebird Festival will be celebrating the event with a display of knitted birds in the Cordova Center & Cordova Museum Art Gallery. You can read more about the festival here. The project is hoping to collect 1000 birds—and I think a flock of colorful Bay Area birds should join the fun!
Saturday, January 20th, from 1 to 4 at my home in Berkeley.
Bring yarn (any weight) or use some of my Shetland leftovers. You can find bird patterns on Ravelry, in Knitted Birds by Nicki Fijalkowska, or in Arne & Carlos' The Field Guide to Knitted Birds. Your bird can be realistic or fantastic! Come knit, chat, eat, and laugh.
Please RSVP to get my address. Hope to see you here!

In the deepest sense this is what I believe technique is—the ability to breathe the spirit of our lives into what we make.
